Mexico is one of the largest countries in North America, known for its rich cultural heritage (Mayans and Aztecs), Caribbean and Pacific beaches, colonial cities and World Heritage gastronomy. Mexico City is one of the largest metropolises in the world.
Climate
Very diverse: arid in the north, humid tropical in the south, temperate in the high regions of the central plateau.
Languages
Spanish is predominant. There are dozens of recognized indigenous languages, including Nahuatl, Mayan, Zapotec and Mixtec. English is spoken in tourist areas.
Driving
Drive on the right. The highways are divided into free (free) and quotas (with tolls). On toll roads, payment is either manual or electronic (IAVE TAG).
Camping
Wild camping is neither common nor safe in urban areas. In rural areas it can be tolerated, but it is best to use campsites and RV parks.
Biker Zones
Iconic routes include Baja California, the Pan-American Highway, the Sierra Madre and the Pacific coast (Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta).
Special Zones
Mexico City has traffic restrictions (program Hoy No Circula), pedestrian zones in the historic center and paid parking.
