Albania is located on the Balkan Peninsula, with beaches on the Adriatic and Ionian and mountains inland. Tirana is the modern and colorful capital, with a strong cultural and historical influence.

Languages

The official language is Albanian. In some areas, Greek and Macedonian are spoken, as well as English in tourist areas.

Driving

Drive on the right. Some highways have tolls (manual or electronic).

Camping

Wild camping is generally prohibited, but tolerated in isolated rural areas. There are organized campsites.

Biker Zones

The roads along the Albanian Riviera and the mountainous routes inland are popular with motorcyclists.

Special Zones

Access to the historic centers of coastal towns such as Saranda and Durrës can be limited and parking is controlled.
