Kenya is known worldwide for its safaris, reserves like the Maasai Mara, national parks like Amboseli, and Mount Kenya. It also has a beautiful coastline on the Indian Ocean, with Mombasa being the highlight.
Climate
Tropical on the coast, arid in the north and moderate in the highlands. Two rainy seasons: March-May and October-December.
Languages
English and Swahili are official. There are also dozens of local languages (Kikuyu, Luo, Maasai, among others).
Driving
Drive on the left. Main roads are reasonable, but secondary roads can be bumpy. There are tolls on some modern expressways (Nairobi Expressway).
Camping
Permitted in official campsites and lodges. Wild camping is discouraged for safety reasons.
Biker Zones
The scenic roads around the Rift Valley, Mount Kenya and the Maasai Mara are popular.
Special Zones
Nairobi has heavy traffic, pedestrian zones in the center and paid parking. In conservation areas, access is restricted.
