Tropical humid, with a dry season (November to April) and a rainy season (May to October). Hurricanes possible in summer.
Languages
Spanish is official. English is common in tourist areas.
Driving
Drive on the right. Some highways have tolls, paid at booths. Secondary roads can be chaotic.
Camping
Wild camping is not very common. There are campsites and private areas in tourist areas.
Biker Zones
The Caribbean and Atlantic coastal routes are very popular with motorcyclists.

Santo Domingo’s historic center is largely pedestrianized.
