Guyana is located on the northern coast of South America and is the only country on the continent with English as its official language. It is known for its Amazon rainforest, the Essequibo River and the impressive Kaieteur waterfall. It also has a strong African, Indian and indigenous cultural influence.

Equatorial and humid tropical, with two rainy seasons (May to August and November to January).
Languages
English is official. Guyanese Creole (English Creole) is widely spoken in everyday life. Indigenous communities preserve local languages.
Driving
You drive on the left (British influence). The main roads connect Georgetown to the interior, but many are dirt tracks. No tolls.
Camping
Wild camping is possible in natural areas, but it is recommended to do so only with guides. There are eco-lodges and basic parks in nature reserves.
Biker Zones
Routes through the Amazonian interior and roads to the Rupununi region are challenging and highly sought after by adventure motorcyclists.
Special Zones
Georgetown has areas of heavy traffic and central areas with limited circulation.
