India is the seventh largest and most populous country in the world. It is famous for its cultural diversity, the Taj Mahal, spirituality, gastronomy and Bollywood.
Climate
Very diverse: tropical in the south, desert in Rajasthan, temperate in the north and alpine in the Himalayas. Monsoons from June to September.
Languages
Hindi is the most widely spoken, but there are dozens of regional languages (Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Punjabi). English is widely used.
Driving
Drive on the left. Many highways have tolls, paid at booths or electronically (FASTag).
Camping
Wild camping is not very common. It’s more common to find guesthouses and campsites in tourist and mountain areas.
Biker Zones
Famous routes include Leh-Ladakh in the Himalayas, Goa and Rajasthan, and the Manali to Leh Road.
Special Zones
Large cities like New Delhi and Mumbai have traffic-calmed zones and heavy pollution.
