Finland is known as the “land of a thousand lakes” and for the aurora borealis phenomenon in the north. Helsinki, the capital, combines modern design with Nordic tradition.
Climate
The climate is cold continental, with harsh, long winters and short but pleasant summers.
Languages
The official languages are Finnish and Swedish. Sami is recognized in the north. English is widely spoken.
Driving
Drive on the right. There are no highway tolls. In winter, the use of winter tires is mandatory (from November to March).
Camping
Wild camping is allowed under the right of access to nature (Jokamiehenoikeus), as long as private property and the environment are respected.
Biker Zones
Finnish Lapland and the Lake District are popular with motorcyclists.

Helsinki has pedestrian zones in the center and controlled parking.
