Germany is one of the most developed countries in Europe, located in the center of the continent. Known for its strong economy, remarkable history and modern cities, it combines tradition and innovation. Berlin, the capital, is famous for its cultural life and recent history, while cities such as Munich, Hamburg and Cologne offer a mix of heritage, gastronomy and iconic festivals such as the Oktoberfest.

Climate

Germany has a temperate climate, with cold winters and mild summers. The north is wetter, influenced by the North Sea and the Baltic, while the south has more extreme temperatures, with hot summers and snowy winters, especially in the Alps.

Languages

Driving

In Germany, you drive on the right. The country is famous for AutobahnThere are many motorways with no general speed limit, but with specific limits in urban areas, construction sites or high-traffic zones. Freeways do not have tolls for cars, only for trucks. Road tolls are not required for passenger cars.

Camping

Wild camping is prohibited in Germany, except on private property with the owner’s permission. There are, however, many organized campsites and overnight areas specifically for motorhomes.

Biker Zones

Germany offers iconic routes for motorcyclists, such as the Black Forest (Schwarzwaldhochstraße), the Alpine roads of Bavaria and the Romantic Road (Romantische Straße). These routes are famous for their natural beauty and challenging curves.

In the German cities of Aachen, Augsburg, Berlin, Bochum, Bonn, Bottrop, Bremen, Castrop-Rauxel, Darmstadt, Dinslaken, Dortmund, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Eschweiler, Essen, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Gladbeck, Hagen, Halle, Herne, Herten, Köln, Krefeld, Langenfeld, Leipzig, Limburg an der Lahn, Ludwigsburg, Magdeburg, Mainz, Marburg, Mönchengladbach, Mülheim, München, Münster, Neuss, Oberhausen, Offenbach, Osnabrück, Overath, Pforzheim, Recklinghausen, Regensburg, Remscheid, The Ruhr area, Siegen, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden and Wuppertal have environmental zones (Umweltzonen), where only vehicles with an eco-label (Umweltplakette) can drive.
