Tanzania is an unmissable destination for adventurous motorcyclists, with roads that pass through savannahs, mountains and the mythical Kilimanjaro, offering an authentic experience in the heart of Africa.

Card payments are only used in tourist areas, cash is still widely used in everyday life.

Road: 80-100 km/h

Localities: 50-60 km/h

Tanzania is famous for Mount Kilimanjaro (the highest point in Africa), safaris in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro parks, and paradise beaches in Zanzibar.

Climate

Tropical, with a rainy season from March to May and a short one from October to December. Inland and on Kilimanjaro, the climate is cooler.

Languages

Swahili is the national and most widely spoken language; English is official in business, education and tourism.

Driving

Drive on the left. Main roads are reasonable, but secondary roads can be difficult. There are few tolls.

Camping

Wild camping is prohibited in national parks. However, it is possible to camp in designated areas and organized campsites.

Biker Zones

Popular routes include roads around Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti and the Indian coast to Zanzibar (accessed by ferry).

Special Zones

Dar es Salaam and Arusha have heavy traffic, with paid parking and pedestrian areas.
